Heritage Weekends at Bluecoat

Looking for a new hobby this summer? Bluecoat Print Studio workshops are perfect if you want to get creative and learn some new skills. They’re also great to experience with a few friends or a loved one if you’re looking for something to do together.

You’ll receive exceptional one to one training from the artists leading the workshop and plenty of time to use the equipment.

Introduction to Screenprint 
Learn the screen printing process and produce a set of your own two colour prints.
6 July, 20 July, 3 August, 17 August, 7 September & 21 September.

CMYK Screenprinting
Learn an advanced technique that allows you to convert photographs into colour screenprints.
22 June & 24 August.

Printmaking for Beginners 
Try three different printmaking processes in the Bluecoat’s intaglio printmaking studio.
15 June & 17 August.

Linocut
Develop your relief printing skills by learning how to produce mono and colour prints using vinyl.
13 July.

Introduction to Etching 
Learn how to use the Bluecoat’s 100 year old intaglio press to produce etchings using both soft and hard grounds.
10 August & 14 September.

Intermediate Screenprint
Build on skills learned during the Introduction to Screenprint session and add photographic elements.
27 July & 28 September.

All classes run 11.00am-5.00pm and are £50-£60 each and once you’ve attended a workshop you can book to use the facilities yourself to continue your printing practice.
