Chinese New Year 2017 – Road Closures

The city will celebrate Chinese New Year, The year of the Rooster from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 January.

It’s expected that there will be an influx of 15-20,000 people in and around Chinatown, including Bold Street. The celebrations will include projections in Chinatown telling the story of Jingwei and the Ocean and the Liverpool BID Company, on your behalf, is contributing to the event by decorating Bold Street with thousands of lanterns to make sure your business can be part of the celebration.

As a consequence of the event and in the interests of public safety, there will be a significant number of roads closed in the area. General pedestrian access will of course be maintained at all times. Traffic orders are in place to support these measures.
