Entrance to Moorfields Station to Close Temporarily

Moorfields entranceThe main entrance of Moorfields station will close temporarily from Monday 22 February for five weeks to enable Network Rail to carry out essential maintenance work on the escalators. Passengers are advised to use the Old Hall Street entrance, which is a four minute-walk from the main entrance of the station.

There is no lift at Old Hall Street, so customers requiring lift access should use Liverpool Central, Lime Street or James Street stations.

Merseyrail apologies for the inconvenience this temporary closure will cause.

Moorfields station is currently undergoing a phased refurbishment. One of three platforms, for southbound trains on the Northern line is temporarily closed; the Wirral line platform underwent an overhaul last year, re-opening at the beginning of the year; and the platform for northbound trains on the Northern line will close temporarily in the spring. Throughout the work, the station remains open.
