The city will celebrate Chinese New Year, The year of the Rooster from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 January. It’s expected that there will be an influx of 15-20,000 people in and around Chinatown, including Bold Street.

The celebrations will include projections in Chinatown telling the story of Jingwei and the Ocean and the Liverpool BID Company, on your behalf, is contributing to the event by decorating Bold Street with thousands of lanterns to make sure your business can be part of the celebration. Full details of the event can be found here.

The event is being promoted by the City Council’s Culture Liverpool channels and our BID platforms including: ThIS Liverpool App and website, our social media platforms (Bold Street and City Central BID) and our bi-monthly e-blast which reaches 18,000+ people. Please be aware that there will be some road closures in place Friday 27 to Sunday 29 January.
Bold Street will be affected on Sunday 29 Jan, when the street will be closed 6am till 9pm from its junction with Berry Street to its junction with Newington/ Renshaw St/Leece.
