Cleansing & Environment – BID projects latest update:

  • Additional cleansing services
    BID considering comparisons with LCC providing resources and equipment for BID or private operators to deliver additional cleansing services in the city centre.
  • City Centre Tree Lighting Strategy
    Every tree in the BID areas will be lit with high quality, sustainable lighting in time for the run up to Christmas 2017.

Safety – BID projects latest update:

  • Night Ambassadors
    BID will be contracting 2 night ambassadors to work every week Thursday-Saturday, 7pm-3am. Their role will be to visit and support all BID leisure, hospitality and accommodation businesses for reassurance and support. It will link with City Watch and ENTE Radio Link. BID is about to appoint the selected contractor so the service can start in November.

Street dwellers – BID projects latest update:

  • Mayor’s Task Group on Rough Sleeping
    Outcome of the has been delayed again and it is due to be announced in mid-October.
  • Public Space Protection Order (PSPO)
    Liverpool City Council is still proposing a PSPO which is looking to ensure the law-abiding majority can use and enjoy public spaces, safe from anti-social behaviour in its various forms.

Marketing and Animation – BID projects latest update:

  • Christmas 2017
    • BID are working with Culture Liverpool on a new joined-up Christmas lighting scheme in the city centre including the BID areas. BID Christmas steering group leading on the activities.
    • BID are working with Open Culture to complement the Christmas lighting scheme to animate key locations in the BID area, including Metquarter, St Johns, Williamson and Clayton Squares.
    • BID and CBRE Christmas Tree in St Paul’s Square will be installed on w/c 13 Nov.
    • BID are also considering further proposals for Christmas lights in the Commercial District.
  • Section 115 licence
    BID is working with Liverpool City Council to extend the Section 115 licence we hold. This will allow us to create animation within the Commercial District which will replicate the City Central system – com Please note BID members are entitled to four free days usage per year for outdoor promotional activity.
  • Student Takeover Week – The campaign took place 25 Sep – 1 Oct. 62 businesses took part in the campaign. BID produced 15,000 leaflets with the offers distributed to student’s accommodations in Liverpool along with universities campus, student unions and bars and cafés. There was also a social media organic and paid campaign across BID channels. 
  • BID Foosball Tournament Back by popular demand… Liverpool BID Company and Weightmans are holding their annual Table Foosball competition on Wednesday 15 November at the new ONE FINE DAY (by LEAF) on Old Hall Street. Register your team here.
