LightNight 2019 is a free arts festival taking place across Liverpool on Friday 17 May for one night only, with this years’ theme focusing on ‘Ritual’. LightNight celebrates all the culture the city has to offer with over 100 organisations working together to create an amazing night of performances, events, workshops and much more.
We have listed all of the exciting events taking place on and around Bold Street:
→ Grin and News from Nowhere
News from Nowhere, 4.00-8.00pm
PMS Radio will be promoting will be showcasing new music from emerging, local artists. It will be playing in all the shops on Bold Street, immersing shoppers in the home-grown talent.
→ Where there’s tea there’s hope
The Garden Café by LEAF, 5.00-10.00pm
LEAF invites everyone to partake in an evening exploring the world of tea. Participants can learn about tea rituals practiced across the world, experiment with various different tea blends and even create artwork. You’ll come away loving tea even more.
→ Dandelion Flowers Ice Cream Liverpool Biennal
Ropewalks Square, 5.30-6.30pm
Brazilian artist Jorge Menna Barreto invites you to take part in an experiment challenging perceptions about typical ice cream products and our relationship with food and the environment. Plant based ice cream will be served with the goal of encouraging everyone to eat locally and ethically.
→ Cakes and Ale
Ropewalks Square, 6.30-7.00pm
Liverpool Chamber Choir provide a performance of music ranging from 16-20 century. The audience will be reminded of a varied history and a very different way of life.
