England’s high streets to be revitalised with help of new £8.6m government Task Force

Government awards £8.6 million to consortium led by Manchester Metropolitan University. The regeneration of high streets in England has received a boost with the creation of a new Task Force that forms part of the Government's Plan for the High Street.

Welcome to our 2019 annual report that for the first time encompasses both BIDs - Retail & Leisure BID and Commercial District BID. The previous 12 months have been particularly successful for Liverpool BID Company as we continue to represent the interests of 1,500 BID Levy Payers, with £1.5m worth of investment into the BID area annually.

Liverpool’s retail and leisure offering showing resilience, new research reveals

New research commissioned by Liverpool BID Company into the visitor experience of Liverpool city centre, shows a robust retail offering with over half of respondents indicating that shopping in Liverpool was better than what they had experienced in other cities (61%).

Liverpool BID Company’s Food and Drink Week celebrations (May 27 - June 2) saw the launch of the city’s first ever Chef Awards today (May 30), as many of the shining lights of Liverpool’s vibrant restaurant scene were rewarded for their culinary skills and dedication.

Liverpool BID Company ushering in an exciting new chapter for Commercial District BID

In 2019, the district is entering the next stage of evolution; the first phase of the Pall Mall development has begun, aiming to boost the Commercial District with much needed Grade A office space, Sony's redevelopment of the former Liverpool Echo building is expected to complete in the first quarter, while Castle Street continues to blossom as a food and leisure destination in its own right, with new restaurants opening at rapid pace.
