Businesses in Liverpool city centre are to discover this week if they are a winner in Liverpool’s 2016 Mystery Shop Awards.
A record 200 businesses – from independent cafes to national chains across both City Central and the Commercial District – were secretly shopped in the Spring to assess their customer service.
Of those visited for the 7th annual survey, commissioned by Liverpool BID Company, 17 businesses scored top marks with the survey scoring an overall 84% average.
A total of 61 businesses scored above 90% while just 28 stores attained a mark below 70% in the independent assessment.
Those which scored a 90% or better rating will be honoured at an awards ceremony on Thursday, 26th May, in the City Of Liverpool College on Roscoe Street.
There will also be Best and Most Improved category winners for National Retailer, Independent Retailer, Service Provider and Eatery.
Bill Addy, Chief Executive of Liverpool BID Company, said: “To have assessed 200 businesses and find the customer service at such a high level speaks volumes for Liverpool’s shops and restaurant sector.
“We’ve worked hard to support businesses in driving up standards and we’ve been delighted with the way they’ve embraced the feedback and the training opportunities to support their staff.
“There’s always room for improvement and plans are in place to continue to build on these tremendous results.”
As a follow up to the awards, 1-2-1 feedback sessions will be provided and the BID company will again be looking to partner an organisation to provide World Host training sessions for free.
